This is a VERY rare scooter. It is from Europe. And I can't tell you much more than what is listed below.

rap

In 1996, I did a project for a client, and as it evolved, he asked if he could pay me partially in "vehicles". I agreed and this was one of 4 scooters we exchanged. It is completely original (except the tires, which were originally white walls and could not be found).

I drove it to our new building located in Chicago and took it up to my office and there it has been, indoors, never driven, all this time.

I have been told (and can not confirm) that this was used to deliver mail in Holand, among other places in Europe. Most of the elements from the bike come from different palces and were then assembled.

It is amazing how clean this thing is. As I mentioned, it is original, not painted of restored. I have been told by a representative of Rex Motoren-Werk (the company who built the engine) that Rex sold their motors to other companies for building Mopeds. So this moped could be a production from the Netherlands. I think the company who built this moped was called "Stockvis".

The engine tag reads:
REX-MOTOREN-WERK-MUNCHEN
Type: Rex 504
Numbr.: 49cm3
Mot. - Nr. 704206

--The seat has a "Lepper" logo on it.
--The sides of the rear fender have a "Rap*Ster" emblem.
--The rear of the rear fender has a painted diamond graphic with "RS" inside a circle.
--The engine has a crown similar to the one on the gas tank.
